With 3 weeks to go until Opening Day, this time of year is a race to the starting line.  From now until June 24th, there is so much to do and so little time.  It’s a good thing we have some great hands to help us out!  Over the next 3 weeks we will offer a behind the scenes look at how Kamp sheds its winter coat and opens up for summer

The first part in our 3 part series (“Prepping for Kamp”) will focus on our Leadership team.  Every year we all get together a few days early, hold workshops, and plan how to make this year the best summer ever.  Which, if you think about it, is kind of hard to do after 110 years of awesome!

A couple of notable members of our leadership team:

Joe Long

Joe has been with us longer than anyone else.  This will be his 37th summer at Kamp.  He came to Kamp the same year “post-its” were introduced, and like the little sticky pieces of paper, we wouldn’t know what to do without him or his stories.

Frank Lee

When “Titanic” was still in the box office, Frank was beginning his work at Kamp.  This is Frank’s 20th summer.  Like all of our other staff, we would not be able to function without Frank.  He does our IT work, which is the only way we can communicate with the outside world.

These are just a couple of people who help make Kohut great each year.

Next week we’ll dive into staff and how they prepare for a summer at Kohut.
