Usually this time of year, Kamp is fairly quiet. Bob and Tom continue with various
maintenance projects, of course, but the beds are put away, the flaps are taken down, the nets are
packed in storage, the doors are locked, and there is a winter stillness that settles in until
kampers and staff arrive with gusto again the following summer. However, that is definitely
not the case this year and Kamp is anything but quiet because we are building a new Dining Hall!
Bulldozers, dump trucks, diggers and work crews arrived the day after Second Session ended and
will be on site until late Spring. In fact, even Lisa is living at Kamp while all this is going
on! It's a tremendously exciting time and we can't wait to open the doors of our new Dining Hall
in 2010. With more seating, a grand view of Lake Thompson, a wrap-around porch, and updated
kitchen facilities, our new Dining Hall is designed to reflect the importance of tradition and
history of Kohut's last 104 years. It will be able to better serve the needs of all of the Kohut Family.
Please check back here often for updates throughout the fall, winter and spring.
