"Get Your Feet Wet" Two-week option For children going into 3rd and 4th grades (ages 8-10)
Two-week campers receive lots of individual attention and instruction in a fun- filled setting as they grow to LOVE camp!

If your camper is entering 3rd or 4th grade, Kamp Kohut offers an AWESOME TWO-WEEK program at the beginning of each session - an opportunity to get his or her feet wet before diving into Kamp completely! These young campers get a special dose of Kamp Kohut warmth and support as they check out what camp is all about. The best part is that if, after two weeks, campers want to stay for the remainder of the session, they can!
Two-week campers explore all the same activities as our four-week campers: tennis, swimming, baseball, fine arts, archery, soccer, dance, gymnastics, adventure, crew - you name it, they try it! And don't forget the MEMORABLE EVENTS that make Kamp Kohut so special... Olympics, Kollege Days, campfires, s'mores, "Flippers," the Gold Rush, and Klue among many others.
Two-week campers experience the pride of INDEPENDENCE and ACCOMPLISHMENT in a fun and nurturing setting. Not only that, at the end of each exciting day, our campers get tucked in for another peaceful night at Kamp Kohut.

Two-week campers arrive on the same day and in the same way that four-week campers do, either by car, bus, or plane. Two-week campers are welcome to use any of the Kohut chaperoned options (the NYC-Westchester-Westport-Boston charter bus, the D.C. area flight, or the Ft. Lauderdale flight). Two-week campers may also fly into the Portland, Maine, Jetport, where a Kamp Kohut representative will meet him or her at the gate and then transport to Kamp Kohut. Two-week campers may also be dropped off by his or her parents on Opening Day. These selections are all open for your convenience and we are happy to coordinate these plans with you.
Once everyone arrives, all campers dive straight into an action-packed schedule, beginning in the afternoon of Opening Day. Our youngest campers, both two- and four-week campers, will have a bit more supervision from their supportive and nurturing counselors and they will participate fully in all activities. Bed-time routines and other key times are monitored more closely to ensure that these little ones are finding their way and adjusting happily to the camp experience. Because of this supportive and nurturing start for our youngest campers, our hope is that these two-week campers will adjust fully to camp life and feel comfortable enough to stay for the entire summer with their friends!
If a two-week camper does not extend his or her stay to the full four weeks, Departure Day transportation is arranged on a camper-to-camper basis. Typically, parents will arrange to pick up their camper directly from Kohut, though we will make sure that all belongings are packed neatly and ready to go.
If a two-week camper decides to extend his or her stay to the full four weeks, all transportation options are once again offered for your convenience and we are happy to coordinate these plans with you.
Because our two-week campers will enjoy the full Kamp Kohut experience in the short time they are with us, the supplied packing list will still be applicable. All equipment is provided by Kohut with the exception of in-line skates, but please feel free to bring any favorite baseball bats, tennis racquets, horseback riding helmets, etc.
If a camper arrives to camp by any other means than his or her parents, the Kamp Kohut Office staff will contact the camper's parents by telephone within two to four hours of arrival to Kohut to confirm their arrival. Within 24 to 48 hours, Lisa Tripler, Owner/Director, or Steve Green, Assistant Director, will contact the parents of all new campers to update you on how things are going. Parents are welcome to call ANY TIME to check in and ask questions. However, parent phone calls to campers do not begin until dinnertime of the 5th day. We encourage our parents to send emails (one email per parent per day, please) or send snail mail! After the 5th day, each parent may call one time per week. Parents may schedule a visit through Lisa with their campers after the first two weeks of camp.
